Rectorial Elections 2021 Logo placed over an image of the Glasgow University cloisters.

UofG Rector Elections ’21

Designing the identity for the Glasgow University Rectorial Elections 2021.

Visual Identity, Social, Motion

Working with the Glasgow University Student Representative Council, I designed the identity for the April ’21 Rectorial Elections. This included the logo, and an accompanying suite of graphics.

The logo features the emblematic tower at the heart of the campus, combined with ballot box and paper.

An animatable pattern using crosses to symbolise the upcoming vote was created for use in livestreaming election coverage and events like the Rectorial Hustings; drawing reference from the uni’s Randolph Staircase.

The brand sits well beside both the University and the SRC’s identities, drawing from the University’s official colour palette and the SRC’s typography specs.

“Working with a new designer for the first time can be daunting, however Ben’s easy-going yet professional manner put me at ease at right away. His work on the UofG Rectorial Election branding was superb; he was able to pull together a really strong concept from a simple brief in what seemed like no time. It’s a real skill to understand what people are picturing and provide such a high quality product. I would highly recommend him to anyone.”
